How To Attract Quality Talent

In a previous post, I touched on quality over quantity in talent acquisition. Now I want to dive deeper into the biggest challenge facing our clients: how do you attract quality talent? Where do you find it?

The search for quality talent isn’t easy, and the statistics show it:

• 83% of employers report difficulty finding candidates with the right skills (ManpowerGroup).

• 52% of job seekers say companies don’t effectively communicate their culture and values (LinkedIn Talent Solutions).

With that in mind, how can we cut through the noise and find the best talent for our organizations?

Context is the key to interpretation:

• Identify the right fields: Are you targeting sectors that are rapidly evolving and innovative?

• Consider educational backgrounds: What universities and curriculums are producing graduates that match your needs?

• Examine demographics: What are you looking for in terms of geographic location, diversity, and experience?

• Evaluate your culture and brand: How is your company perceived? Do your mission and values attract the kind of talent you need?

With intentionality, a clear understanding of your company’s principles, and a strategy that looks beyond just the resume, you can find top talent - even if you don’t have widespread brand recognition.
